Diets are frequently associated with unhealthy weight loss regimens. Yes, it does happen, and you are not alone.
Consider how the term "diet" is used in food product marketing — wouldn't you choose the ones that are good for your health?

Diet and Nutrition
Diet beverages, such as diet soda, are frequently referred to as diet. This word, however, has another meaning. Diet can also refer to the daily foods and beverages that people consume, as well as the mental and physical events that are associated with food.
Nutrition involves more than simply eating a “good” diet — it’s about feeding on every level. This includes relationships with family, friends, nature (environment), our bodies, our community, and the world.
Choices about feeding are highly correlated with other people and other forms of life on this planet, so healthy (and unhealthy) decisions have a huge impact.

Nutrition, we believe, entails more than just eating a healthy diet.
It's all about feeding on multiple levels. This includes interactions with family, friends, society, and the rest of the world.
Because feeding decisions affect other people and other life forms on this planet, healthy (and unhealthy) choices have a significant impact.
Our bodies require "information" and materials from the food we eat in order to function properly.
If we don’t get the right information, our metabolic processes suffer and our health declines.
